Johane Boucher-Champagne, DSA
President and Chief Executive Officer
A graduate of HEC Montreal, Ms. Boucher-Champagne has a wide range of experience in health-science research activities, business management and administration.
Ms. Boucher-Champagne began working at Anapharm as Chief Operating Officer in 1998. Since then, she has helped manage the company’s rapid growth by taking charge of various corporate duties and by introducing participation-based management.
Ms. Boucher-Champagne has extensive experience within various university research centres and contract research firms. Her previous experience also includes setting up biological analysis laboratories and initiating research groups on animal and human metabolism. Prior to joining Anapharm, Ms. Boucher-Champagne worked as a Business Development Manager within a new Canadian research firm and successfully helped promote its services within the global pharmaceutical industry.
Ms. Boucher-Champagne holds an Executive Master's Degree in Administration and a degree in life sciences. She has more than thirty years of experience with health-science research activities, business management and administration.
Isabel Desmarais, B. Pharm, M.Sc., MBA
Assistant Chief Executive Officer
A pharmacy graduate from Laval University, Ms. Desmarais also holds a Master’s Degree in Hospital Pharmacy (M.Sc.) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Since joining Anapharm in 1998, Ms. Desmarais has contributed significantly to implementing and developing protocol and project management initiatives. As Assistant CEO, Ms. Desmarais is responsible for Anapharm’s clinical and bioanalytical divisions and for ensuring that the company’s strategic initiatives are achieved.
Joel Pouliot, CMA
Vice President, Finance
Mr. Pouliot joined Anapharm in November 2008. Mr. Pouliot graduated from University Laval with a B.A. in Business Administration and is a member of the Order of Management Accountants. Mr. Pouliot has over 15 years experience in management positions mostly within the aviation industry. His work experience includes international strategic development, business administration and corporate finances.
Mr. Pouliot is responsible for all aspects of Anapharm’s Finance Department.
Eric Drouin, BBA, MBA
Vice President, Organizational Development
Mr. Drouin has been working at Anapharm since 2005. His previous experience includes working as an organizational development and training consultant for various Canadian organizations within the financial, transport and manufacturing sectors. Mr. Drouin also has solid experience in creating and implementing communication and leadership training programs. Mr. Drouin holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Laval University.
Mario Tanguay, B. Pharm, M.Sc. Pharm, Ph.D
Vice President, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs
Dr. Tanguay is Vice President of the scientific and regulatory affairs department at Anapharm. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Montreal. Dr. Tanguay has served as co-investigator during hundreds of pharmacokinetic and Phase 1 studies, including bioavailability and bioequivalence studies and drug interaction studies, among others. Dr. Tanguay has over five years experience working within contract research organizations, including clinical research experience at Wyeth-Ayerst and Pharmacia. He also has experience serving as a community pharmacist and has been a guest lecturer on numerous occasions at Laval University, Sherbrooke University and the University of Montreal. Dr. Tanguay is a member of several scientific associations including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET).
Dr. Robert Massé, Ph.D.
Vice President, Bioanalytical Divsion
Dr. Massé joined Anapharm in August 2008. Dr. Massé brings with him more than 30 years of experience in bioanalytical research and in drug screening laboratory. Amongst other things, he actively participated in the development of technologies and platforms for the analysis of proteins, biopeptids and biomarkers. He has also worked in the fields of academic and contractual research.
His expertise, experience and numerous publications has made him a highly recognized person within the international community. Dr. Massé has also acted as an expert in the world of anti- doping. His last mandate led him to manage a national immunology monitoring laboratory and to identify strategic partnerships in this field.
Dr. Massé is responsible for the development of bioanalytical, immunochemistry and diagnosis services.
Charles Reny, CA
Vice President, Pre-Study Services and Information Technologies
Mr. Reny is a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Accountants. He has over 15 years experience in management positions within various biotechnology companies. Mr. Reny’s work experience includes all aspects of business administration, corporate finance and product and market development. His main responsibilities at Anapharm include implementing robust and efficient management and operational systems to support the company’s operations.
Stéphane Marin, B. Pharm, M.Sc., MBA
Vice President, Business Development
A pharmacy graduate from Laval University, Mr. Marin also holds a Master’s Degree in Hospital Pharmacy (M.Sc.) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sherbrooke. Since joining Anapharm in 1996, Mr. Marin has contributed significantly to developing, establishing and maintaining new business relations with many leading pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Marin is actively involved in the company’s marketing and strategic planning and currently manages the business development department.
Patricia Milani, B.Sc.
Vice President, Conpliance
Ms. Milani works with the Quality Assurance Services since 1996. Ms. Milani’s main responsibilities will ensure the compliance of the company with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed and that behaviour/ethics of the organisation meets the company’s standards.
Jean-Marie Houle, B.Sc. Pharm, M.Sc. Pharm, Ph.D
Vice President, Clinical Development
Dr. Houle is responsible for all clinical operations at all Anapharm sites and is a member of Anapharm’s management committee. Dr. Houle has over 19 years experience in designing, implementing and managing pre-clinical research, pre-clinical development and clinical Phase I – III therapeutic development projects in the contract research organization and pharmaceutical/biotechnology sectors. Dr. Houle has contributed to more than 35 publications and presentations. He is a pharmacy graduate from the University of Montreal, where he also obtained an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Serge St-Laurent,M.Sc.
Senior Director, Quality Assurance
Mr. St-Laurent joined Anapharm in 2005, Mr. St-Laurent has strongly contributed in developing several quality and compliance performance indicators within the organisation. In his fundtion, Mr. St-Laurent, ensures the evolving of our quality assurance practices for better alignment with the numerous changes within our industry.
