Johane Boucher-Champagne
President and Chief Executive Officer

A graduate of the École de hautes études commerciales de Montréal, Johane has wide-ranging experience with health-science research activities as well as expertise and experience in business management and administration.
She began working at Anapharm as its chief operating officer in 1998. She has since helped manage its rapid growth by taking over different corporate duties and by introducing participation-based management.
Since the beginning of her career, she has worked at university research centres and contract research firms. She was involved on many occasions in setting up biological analysis laboratories and in starting up research groups on animal and human metabolism. In addition, as Business Development Manager, she had successfully helped promote the services of a new Canadian research firm within the global community of the pharmaceutical industry.

Guylaine Perron, C.A.
Vice President, Finance

As Vice President, Finance, Guylaine ensures that the company is financially sound. For over five years now, she has sat on the Senior Management Committee and contributed to the organization’s strategic planning. Financial and budget planning are also under her responsibility.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Université Laval and has been a Chartered Accountant since 1984. Ms. Perron also has several years of experience in auditing as well as in legal and regulatory affairs in the field of financial brokerage.

Stéphane Marin, M.Sc., MBA
Vice President, Business Development

A pharmacist who graduated from Université Laval, Mister Marin also holds a Master of Hospital Pharmacy (M.Sc.) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Université de Sherbrooke. Ever since he came to Anapharm in 1996, Stéphane has greatly contributed to developing, establishing, and maintaining new business relations with many leading pharmaceutical companies. He is actively involved in the company’s marketing and strategic planning. Currently, he manages the Department of Business Development.

Patricia Milani, B.Sc.,
Director, Quality Assurance

Patricia has worked in the quality assurance department for the company since 1996. Managing a team of auditors covering both clinical and bioanalytical activities to ensure compliance to GLP, GCP ICH and European regulations is one of her primary responsibilities. Prior to working at Anapharm. she has also contributed in implementing and managing a GLP QA program in an environment analysis laboratory for over seven years. Her current position has led to successful FDA audits and numerous positive GLP/GCP assessments from many pharmaceutical companies.

Isabel Desmarais, M.Sc., MBA
Assistant Chief Executive Officer

A Pharmacist graduate from Université Laval (1995), Isabel also holds a Master’s degree in Hospital Pharmacy (M.Sc.) (1997) and a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) (2003). Ever since joining Anapharm in 1998, Isabel has greatly contributed to implementing and developing protocol writing and Project Management. As Assistant COO, she is responsible of our clinical and bioanalytical divisions. She also ensures the realisation and follow-up of the Company’s strategic initiatives.

Charles Reny, C.A.,
Executive Director, Project Management & Information Technologies

Mr. Reny is a member of membre de l'Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec. Since 1992, he has held management positions with different biotechnology companies. His work experience includes all aspects of business administration, corporate finance and product and market development. His main responsibilities at Anapharm, is the implementation of robust and efficient management and operational systems.

Eric Drouin
Vice President, Organisationel Development

Eric has been employed at Anapharm since April 2005. Eric previously worked as an organisational development and training consultant for various Canadian organisations specialized in financial, transport and manufacturing services. Eric also has solid experience in creating and implementing communication training programs as well as leadership programs. Eric holds an M.B.A. and a bachelor of business administration from Université Laval.

Jean-Marie Houle, B.Sc. Pharm, M.Sc. Pharm, Ph.D.
Vice President, Clinical Operations

Dr. Houle is responsible for all clinical operations at Anapharm sites and is a member of the Anapharm management committee. Dr. Houle has more than 19 years in the design, implementation and management of pre-clinical research, pre-clinical development and clinical Phase I – III therapeutic development in the contract research organization and pharmaceutical/biotechnology sectors. He has contributed to more than 35 publications and presentations. He is a pharmacy graduate of the Université of Montreal where he also obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences.

Mario Tanguay, Ph.D., B. Pharm.,
Vice President, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs

Mario Tanguay, Ph.D., B. Pharm.Dr. Mario Tanguay is Vice-President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at Anapharm. He holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and obtained a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Montréal. He has been a co-investigator in hundreds of pharmacokinetic and Phase 1 studies (including bioavailability and bioequivalence, drug interactions, etc.)Dr. Tanguay has more than five years of experience working with Contract Research Organizations. He previously worked for five years in clinical research at Wyeth-Ayerst and Pharmacia. He also worked as a community pharmacist for many years and has been a guest lecturer on numerous occasions at Laval University, Sherbrooke University and the University of Montréal. Dr. Tanguay is a member of many scientific associations including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET).
